This is primarily for the benefit of Messrs Fee and Valtierra but anyone else can read it, obviously, as it's a blog
While the rest of us are at the jolly old theatre you two will be doing the following:
In preparation for your Preliminary Task (school/college magazine) you must come up with the following by the next lesson
- If you haven't done so already, finalise your own plan of what you will have achieved by what date. It's a useful exercise to undergo. Put this on your blog.
- Come up with at least TWO basic layouts of the front page - a basic sketch will do
- Potential TITLES for your product
- Potential CONTENTS for the front page - by this I mean what sort of font size/type will you use and why, what colours do you have in mind and so on
- Decide on any STYLE you have in mind. There is a big difference between 6th Form at a school and one at a college. Note those differences and allow them to inform your research. Also, will it focus on any one department, like the exemplar material on Fronter, or will it be a little more generic
- If you can, start to take some PHOTOS around the school. You may use your own camera or there is one in reception. Tell them it's for AS Media and it should be okay.
- If you have time, conduct a survey of your peers. You may wish to compile a questionnaire for your own convenience and record your findings in a graph or pie chart or something like that
- And, of course, don't forget to blog all your findings. This is important now as it's worth marks. Big. Fat. Marks.
Be prepared to stand up and present your findings to the class on Thursday. I know it seems like I'm asking you to do extra work but we will serve as a focus group for you. Focus Group = lovely research material = big fat marks. And everyone else will have to do it eventually...
If you manage to finish all of that in the space of one hour, you have my express permission to relax. Put your feet up. Jam.
Thanks ever so much
LFE :)
